Mac 1_Feverbooks

so i'm separated from my books (all my books) by a lot of ocean. and i cant reread them when ever i want to look up some details.

and then i began to think of Mac and the books (of which i'v only read 1st 3) and how i was never ever happy with how i drew her. ever.
i mean the first painting was nice, but it never said MAC to me.

and then i thought about why, and found that i dont relate to Mac when i draw her realistically. i was so caught up in getting her down how the writer wanted that i lost her. what Mac was to me, as the reader, i feel is more important to portray then what the writer had in mind. because although what was in the writers mind may be original and RIGHT its may not be what came across to the reader.

so this is my final attempt at Mac. not just this picture, but the fallowing. i want to get her to be the right kind of cartoony for me. and thats going to be somewhere between american comic book style and my own.

i dont know why its important to me to get Mac right. but i cant seem to let go
